Warning: Mastic powder should be kept in a cool place, below 18 C (64 F), or preferably in the refrigerator. During summer time the heat in Greece (and possibly in your country) may reach high temperatures. As a result, if the mastic powder is exposed to heat for some time it might stick together and become lumpy. If this happens, please put the mastic with the jar for a few hours in the deep freezer and then tap it on a hard surface, so it will become powder again. If the mastic powder during transport is exposed to high heat for prolonged time, it might stick together and could possibly become a yellow lump. In this case, put the jar for a few hours in the deep freezer and then while still frozen put smaller pieces of the mastic lump in a blender and make it powder again.
When you make it powder again it will be perfectly all right and absolutely safe to use, since mastic starts losing some of its properties only if it is heated above 80 degrees Celsius (176 Fahrenheit).
